Regarding Interim Dean- A Letter from Bishop Paul-Gordon Chandler

Updated: Aug 18, 2022

Greetings from the Diocese’s office in Casper. I am delighted that The Rev. Jami Anderson has accepted the invitation to serve as Interim Dean at St. Matthew’s Cathedral beginning the weekend of September 10/11, 2022 for a period of 6-9 months, during which we will be conducting a national search for our next cathedral dean.

The cathedral vestry was unanimous in their invitation to Rev. Jami Anderson to serve as our Interim Dean, and are enthusiastic about her forthcoming ministry among us. Not only does Rev. Anderson have extensive ministry experience, having led thriving parishes as a Rector, she is also deeply acquainted with Laramie, our state, and our Diocese.

I can’t imagine anyone more perfectly prepared to serve as our Interim Dean at this exciting time in the life of our cathedral, as we prepare for all that God has in store for us.

I want to thank each of the members on our cathedral vestry for their excellent leadership during this transitional period, and also to Rev. Gary Jones, who has so magnificently served as our “coach,” helping to pave the way for a healthy interim period and an effective search for our next cathedral dean.

We will of course be keeping the cathedral congregation updated on developments each step of the way. Thanks to each of you for your prayers as we enter this period of discernment as to the leading of God’s Spirit for the cathedral’s future ministry.

Take hope,

The Rt. Rev. Paul-Gordon Chandler

Bishop of Wyoming
